Where Technology Leads

Stay in control — of your network, your business, your world.
Echelon is a pioneer and world leader in control networks, which connect machines and other electronic devices; embedded control networks, which are networks inside machines that connect tiny sensors and actuators that comprise the workings of a machine; and smart metering, a next-generation utility infrastructure for automated metering and other utility services.
The LonWorks Platform
We created the LonWorks platform, an extremely robust, flexible, and expandable standards-based control networking platform upon which manufacturers can build products and applications with unparalleled reliability, security, operational integrity, flexibility, and bottom-line value. Hundreds of millions of people have experienced a LonWorks based control network: They're used everywhere — from the Louvre, to the New York City subway system, to Rhoponghi Hills in Tokyo — to create control applications that make our lives more comfortable, convenient, and safe.
The Pyxos Platform
The Pyxos Embedded Control Networking Platform puts the power of control networks inside machines, adding functionality while lowering costs. Pyxos components are so small that new, previously unimaginable applications can be created such as smart uniforms, smart carpeting, and smart furniture. LonWorks networks connects boxes. Pyxos networks put Thinking Inside the Box™.
The NES System
As of August 2005, over 25 million homes in Italy were connected to a smart energy infrastructure using our power line signaling technology. Our smart metering solution for utilities, the NES system, leverages the expertise we gained from working with Enel SpA of Italy. Besides being an open, automated meter-reading system, NES can be used for additional energy and operational needs and services such as pre-paid energy, energy quality monitoring and reporting, and outage and theft detection.
We supply over 90 products to original equipment manufacturers, systems integrators, and value-added resellers from offices in the U.S., U.K., China, Japan, Germany, France, South Korea, and The Netherlands, as well as channel partners throughout the Americas, Asia, and Europe. Echelon is publicly traded on the NASDAQ market under the symbol ELON.
