Chris Yelton Joins Echelon as Vice President of Channel Sales and Market Development
(San Jose, CA - September 2, 2009) - Echelon Corporation (NASDAQ: ELON) today announced that Chris Yelton has joined the company as Vice President of Channel Sales and Market Development for Echelon’s LonWorks® infrastructure business. Yelton will focus on expanding Echelon’s presence and partners in the fast-growing energy savings market, including smart buildings, remotely controlled streetlights, and demand response programs for smarter electricity grids.

During her career, Yelton has held a variety of business leadership and development positions. Yelton most recently served as Chief Executive Officer of the International Museum of Women, the world’s first-of-its-kind internet based social change museum. Prior to the International Museum of Women, Yelton spent 20 years in the technology industry including multiple roles at Lucent Technologies as Vice President/General Manager, Japan; Senior Director of Worldwide Operations; and Director of Service Provider Sales, Latin America.
Yelton has served on the board of directors for the Professional Business Women of California and the International Museum of Women, and holds a BS in business administration from the Kelley School of Business, Indiana University Bloomington.
