New LonWorks® Based Lighting Modules from Halensmart Shatter Consumer Price Barrier(HONG KONG, PRC and SUNNYVALE, Calif. - October 17, 2001) - Halensmart Company Ltd., a division of Rambler Investment Ltd., Hong Kong, announced today the availability of the first in a planned series of very low-cost LonWorks® based consumer products. The first product, a lamp dimmer module priced at $33.80 each, uses Echelon Corporation's (NASDAQ: ELON) PLT-22 Power Line Transceiver to control lights and other dimmer modules by communicating over a home's power wiring. Halensmart will be exhibiting the products at LonWorld™ 2001 in Frankfurt, Germany beginning October 23rd.
