Echelon to Webcast Annual Shareholders Meeting

(SAN JOSE, CA - May 18, 2004) - Echelon Corporation (NASDAQ: ELON), the creator of the LonWorks® device networking platform for connecting everyday devices to each other and the Internet, announced today that the company will conduct a live audio webcast of the proceedings from its annual shareholders meeting May 21st, 2004 at 10:00AM PDT. The meeting will be held at Echelon’s headquarters located at 550 Meridian Ave, San Jose, CA 95126.

Shareholders and others unable to attend the meeting may listen to the live proceedings and view the slide presentation via the Internet. The webcast session will be available at http://www.echelon.com beginning approximately at 9:55AM PDT.
