Echelon to Webcast Annual Shareholders Meeting

(SAN JOSE, CA – May 24, 2005) - Echelon Corporation (NASDAQ: ELON), a pioneer in control networking, and the world’s leading supplier of technology for the widely-used LonWorks® control networking platform, announced today that the company will conduct a live audio webcast of the proceedings from its annual shareholders meeting May 27th, 2005 at 10:00AM PT. The meeting will be held at Echelon's headquarters located at 550 Meridian Ave, San Jose, CA 95126.

Shareholders and others unable to attend the meeting may listen to the live proceedings and view the slide presentation via the Internet. The webcast session will be available at http://www.echelon.com beginning approximately at 9:55AM PT.
