LonWorks Platform Adopted by Largest Russian Security and Fire Alarm Systems Manufacturer
(Moscow, Russia - May 19, 2010) - Echelon Corporation (NASDAQ: ELON) today announced that Argus-Spectrum Co., a leading Russian manufacturing company specializing in the development and production of security and fire protection alarm systems, has selected Echelon's LonWorks® technology for its latest line of detector products. The announcement was made today at the 2010 Integrated Safety and Security Exhibition in Moscow, Russia where Argus-Spectrum is providing a demonstration of the solution in their booth.
Argus-Spectrum is using Echelon's power line technology in its system products to provide better reliability, more functionality and simplified installation. Echelon's power line technology communicates over existing power lines, reducing installation costs and lowering lifetime maintenance costs.
