High-performance, cost effective routing
Using two Router 5000 ICs, each as a half router that interfaces to any LonWorks® transceiver, you can quickly build a high-performance, cost-effective custom LonWorks router. The Router 5000 supports a variety of external LonWorks transceiver types and routing functions, giving you the flexibility to design a router the meets your needs for expanding the network, and increase the network’s survivability, reliability, and performance.
- Seamless multi-channel and multi-media support, with logical isolation between two half-routers that improves system reliability by isolating failures between channels
- Transceiver-independent design supports bit rates from 610 bps to 1.25Mbps, and channel options, including:
- TP/FT-10
- TP-RS485
- TP/XF-78F
- TP/XF-1250
- LPT-11 link power transceiver
- Provides routing performance choices:
- Routing tables for selectively forwarding messages based on destination address
- Forwarding of all valid packets that match the router’s domains
- Forwarding of all valid packets
- Ideal for expanding network capability and size, and increasing network survivability, reliability and performance
- Lower cost, easier network installations with flexibility for transmitting across different media types or bit rates
- Flexibility to build a custom router, install it, then configure it at needed
