OpenLDV Developer's Kit

The OpenLDV™ SDK provides a low-level API to Echelon's OpenLDV driver for Microsoft® Windows®, enabling Windows applications to send and receive LonWorks® ISO/IEC 14908-1 messages through compatible Echelon and third-party network interfaces.

  • Supports creating Windows applications that initialize and terminate communications with the network interface, retrieve low-level incoming messages, or transmit low-level outgoing messages

  • Works with local network interfaces (Echelon U10/U20, PCC-10, PCLTA-21) and remote (Internet-enabled) network interfaces (Echelon SmartServer and i.LON® 600)

  • Provides example source code showing how to use the OpenLDV driver to write applications for sending and receiving low-level ISO/IEC 14908-1 (LonWorks® protocol) messages

  • Provides outstanding security (encryption, authentication, protection) and transparent, fault-tolerant session recovery from SmartServer or i.LON 600 IP-connection or power interruption

You can use any development tool that supports communicating with a Windows DLL to create applications that interface with OpenLDV. Example development tools that support Windows DLLs include the C++ and .NET programming tools in Microsoft® Visual Studio®.
