Summary
This Product Alert is applicable only to products designed with the FT 3150 Smart Transceiver running at 20MHz and does not apply to FT 3150 Smart Transceiver applications running at 5MHz or 10MHz or to FT 3120® Free Topology Smart Transceiver applications. A new version of the LonTalk® firmware (Version 13.1) has been released for use with FT 3150 Smart Transceivers. This is included in the latest Service Packs/Updates for LonBuilder® and NodeBuilder® that may be downloaded from the Downloads section.

FT 3150 Free Topology Smart Transceiver products operating @ 20MHz need to use the V13.1 firmware to guarantee data retention of 10 years for the on-chip EEPROM. The on-chip EEPROM of the FT 3150 Smart Transceiver needs to be erased (using the EEBlank utility) and the application image in the external memory needs to be rebuilt with V13.1 firmware and updated.

Application programs linked with V13.1 firmware are compatible with devices running V13 firmware. Likewise, application programs linked with V13 firmware are compatible with devices running V13.1 firmware.

The latest version of the EEBxxxx.NRI should be used if you need to blank the EEPROM on an FT 3150 Smart Transceiver running @ 5MHz or 20MHz. The EEBlank utilities are included in the latest Service Packs/Updates for LonBuilder and NodeBuilder.
