This class is intended for anyone interested in learning about LonWorks technology and how to make it work for them. Installers, building owners, and maintenance personnel, as well as network design/integration engineers who design, manage, and maintain LonWorks networks should attend this course.

Overview

Learn LonWorks fundamentals and terminology, and discover how LonWorks networks are used. You'll get an overview of networks and the technical aspects of the LonTalk® protocol. Four laboratories will help you become familiar with the technology and features of the LonMaker® Integration tool, which is used to design and commission LonWorks networks. You'll also learn how LonWorks Learning Paths can help you develop your personal training curriculum.

  • Working knowledge of Windows 95/98 or Windows NT
  • Completion of the online Web-based instruction materials and pre-course quiz

Laboratory Work

This is a technology overview class, in which you'll participate in real-world case studies, written exercises, review questions, and class discussions.
